OK I think I was not very clear :
for every pc of jewlry you need 1. photo 2. description. if your ring has a 1 carat diamond it should say that 3 money value.
the reoson: this will be handy when you say go back to india for a wedding . then on your return the custom guy cannot say that you changed your diamond from a 1/2 carat to 1. just an example . if it is a gold chain then the wetght of the chain is imp.
customs is specially aware that asians keep a lot of their savings in jewlry and they look out for it.
we had tried getting ours upraised in US but it was too expensive, so I simply took the photos and put values to my best knowlede . when we entered he told me that it was fine for now but I would need detailed description on my way back to India should I take some bsack. my photos were not very clear and I never put any descriptions and wts etc.
I hpe I have been clearer
I had the goods to follow list stamped from customs while landing in 2009. I am shifting for good to Canada now only. Can I still ship the goods declared earlier in the list or is there an expiry date like 3 years from landing?
