Does anyone know how much time I get to bring over my goods once I've land and gotten my goods to follow list stamped? Is there an expiration date to the list?
Also, my spouse and I are landing separately; can each of us have our own goods to follow list? or can only the primary applicant have a goods to follow list?
your help is much appreciated!! thank you!!
you can have one list. You can ask the custom officer these questions. But as far as I know the list is stamped with the primary immigrant. If you talk to them they are very helpful. I think you get 1 yr to bring in the goods.
One thing that is important is the Jewlry : please take photographs of each pc . get it valued there. then when you come in,get those photos stamped buy cutoms. that way when you take it back for a weding or somthing you wont have a problem bringing it back into canada. this is somthing the customs officer specifically told us. we had taken photos but they were not valued . its very expensive to get it valued in the states . From India you will find it easier. we added all the amount to the assets we were bringing into the country. I think it helps when you give this list during the time of application too.
thanks Janmeja
when you say make sure you 'get it valued there' - where is there? at customs? Can't i just take photos of each and value each piece myself and present that to customs for stamping?
thanks
