MCGB to demolish unauthorised complex of Dawood Ibrahim
Mumbai, July 11: The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGB) is all set to demolish tomorrow seven illegal structures which form the Sara-Sahara Shopping Complex allegedly constructed by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in a downtown area opposite the Commissionerate of Police here.
The complex stands on a plot of land owned by Central Public Works Department and was illegally built in connivance with municipal officials, according to police.
The Bombay High Court had earlier upheld the order of a lower court allowing demolition of the illegal complex which the don had allegedly built.
The tenants of the complex filed an appeal in the Supreme Court which also upheld the High Court order.
MCGB has already formed a demolition squad and demolition would begin from tomorrow under heavy police security cover.
Around 300 workers, 50 municipal offices and policemen would be involved in the demolition drive for two days, a top municipal officer said.
This is the second time a building owned by Dawood Ibrahim will be pulled down, the earlier being another structure demolished by the then Deputy Municipal Commissioner G R Khairnar in 1995.

The same story yesterday repoorted that there were 7 blasts coz of the 7 buildings to be demolished !!!
Maybe the authorities were mistaken in counting the number of buildings that they were to demolish ???? (they missed the 8th building ?)
How about we stop looking at the D company for the answers to all our crime related problems ?

Its a good idea to accelerate the pressure though. Maybe not, with all thats hapenning in the middleeast...heads are turning away from Mumbai.
