Hi

How good (or bad) is Johnson Auto Insurance?
Their quote is better than TD, it seems.
One of my friend got a quote for full coverage on a new Kia car for $180 PM, whereas TD quoted in the range of $280-300 PM.
He has a G2 with a driving record of 14 months with no claims/tkts.

Any feedbacks?

Thanx

Not sure about Johnson, but here's one thing you can try while you're insurance-shopping.

I was with TD until a few months back and found their rate outrageous. Despite a clean driving record for over 5 years, my insurance was about 250 bucks a month (I have an expensive car, but still this was way too much)

I was shopping around when my policy was due to expire and called a few companies (the usual cheap ones like Bel Air Direct, RBC etc etc) and found that the rates were not that different (a benefit of about 10 bucks a month at most).

Then by chance, I happened to call a state farm agent in my area. I wasn't really expecting anything much to come out of it, because I figured that since its better and more reputed company, they'll quote me something much higher than TD. To my amazement, the lady I spoke to quoted me 160 bucks per month! I re-checked all the info. with her just in case I missed something, but yeah, that was the right quote.

I think the difference in this case somehow was that I went through an agent (who did not charge me anything at all). So overall, I got better customer service, a better insurance company and my rate dropped significantly. I'd highly recommend checking with an insurance agent along with calling companies directly while shopping for auto insurance. No guarantees, but can't hurt.

You can search for a statefarm agent here...

As a broker of cars said " All insurance companies suck while claiming insurance and so it is better just to be insured for namesake".
I find the statement very true.
I am with TD and pay around $230 a month. I have a 99 corolla with 2 year G2 driving experience. Mine is 3 rd. party insurance and no driving cert...
I heard that statefarm insures only G licence holders and so the OP maynot be able to get it.
It is better to try some credit union insurance companies.
PC Financial also offers good rates as well as TD melonche monnex.

I have insurance from State Farm. I got it through a contact from classifieds here on CD. The deal i got was good considering my situation. I had a 4 month old G-2 licence (had been in the country for 5 months only). The premium i pay is 275 for a 2002 Nissan Sentra, full insurance (inc. household). TD had given me a quote for 450!!!!. Of course I had to pay for this reference, but it was worth it.

Well, since the agents are available on their own...I'd first try to get a quote directly from them. No sense paying someone when you can do it yourself as easily...

Well, I pay $130 PM for 3rd party with TD, and I have a G2 with one year driving record.
Dont know whether I am paying more or less?
Any idea, CD members??
