I live in city (toronto) at major intersection , lowest insurance rate i am getting is like $ 370 , i wanna know if i use my relatives address in small town ( 3 hrs from toronto) , will there be any problems, should i change address on driving licence as well ,

pls suggest, auto insurance is just unaffordable if you live in city,

this is very organized corruption in canada

note that i have very clean record , 3 yrs experience, no tickets, no accidents, no claims

All the insurance companies are in cahoots and they are there just to make a killing for themselves. So, be careful when you deal with them.

They do not want you to break this years contract with them. If you do, then, the others get a note from the current insurance group and they will watch out for you and somehow get you and squeeze the hell out of you. They know how to cook your goose.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now to cook the goose. How it came about.: What is all this ?? !! Mnnn...

{Origin of the surname There are a number of possible origins of the Huss name

1. North German status name for a householder or for someone who lived or worked at a house. In Middle Low German 'hūs' means 'house'

2.Czech and Slovak (Hus), derived from the Czech 'husa' meaning ‘goose’ . This is believed to be the origins of John Huss surname. }

Execution : The executioners undressed Hus and tied his hands behind his back with ropes, and bound his neck with a chain to a stake around which wood and straw had been piled up so that it covered him to the neck. At the last moment, the imperial marshal, Von Pappenheim, in the presence of the Count Palatine, asked him to recant and thus save his own life, but Hus declined with the words "God is my witness that the things charged against me I never preached. In the same truth of the Gospel which I have written, taught, and preached, drawing upon the sayings and positions of the holy doctors, I am ready to die today."[5] He was then burned at the stake, and his ashes thrown into the Rhine River.

He could have gotten out of this execution. But he didn't. Hence the term "Cooked his own Goose"

Please plug in all kind of combinations into this website and get your own quotes from them.

If you are getting a better quote when you punch in the address that is 3 hours away, it will be advisable to change your location too to the same address in your Driver's license. So, they all match. Also make sure your car registration is also at the same address.

Good Luck.

Treeno7,
You could do that.
Just add your name to your relatives lease or get a dummy lease from them and change your address. Then update your driving license.
your insurance will be cut into half.
This will work as long as you donot run into any problem. Just say for example that you hit a person with your car and he dies. Your insurance is supposed to cover this cost.
This is when the insurance company will really dig into your history and see if you had really lived in this address or whether it was a dummy address. If it is proved that it is a dummy address, then you are in soup.
Again either your relatives or friends can tell the truth to back stab you, at your time of need.
The insurance company says that your address is generally where you park your car at night.
So decide wisely.
Donot try to save pennies and loose pounds.,

Peace

Anything between 300-400 is normal. sply in Etobicoke/Brampton area. same for scarborough/Toronto. little less in Markham area.

Everybody is getting killed, you are not alone. I use public transport though can afford 2 cars in home. Just protesting !

Move out West. I am paying $370 for two cars(2009 and 1998 models). Insurance was enough to scare me away from the GTA. Was paying $350 for one car myself when in GTA a couple of months ago.

It SIMPLY sucks!

I am paying 310 for 2 cars / 2 drivers in the GTA - 2007 sedan and 2009 SUV. 6 year driving history in Canada. Driving record not completely clean.

But totally agree with you - insurance overall sucks in the GTA.
