If you got G-1 in 2000, then in which country is your experience from 1990 - 2000?
If it is in India, then it won't be counted.
However, if it is in the US, then some insurers will consider it.
Other countries like UK and Australia are sometimes considered, but not very often.

Regardless, all insurers in Canada will consider driving experience from the date your got your first Canadian license (whether G-1, G-2 or G).

Does this answer your question?

Just to give you an example of how crazy the insurance industry is - I have a colleague who is Canadian born and grew up in Ontario.
He got his driving license when in school at the age of 16.
After he graduated, he left Canada to work in the UK.
He has moved back to Canada after almost 25 years now.

When he went to get insurance for his cars (1 car and 1 minimvan) he was told that he qualifies for a good driver discount (no accidents, tickets or claims ever).
He said " but I have never driven in Canada".
The insurer said that it does not matter....you are still a great driver :)
