Hope you guys are getting ready for the winter. Just have a couple of questions about PR card.
I landed in Canada in March 2005, applied for PR card and SIN card, came back to USA as I was working in US on H1B. I got my PR card which is valid till 2010. Curretly I am on my second H1 which will expire in 2009. Here are the issues:
1. Do I have to go back to Canada by Mar 2008, or Mar 2010. Out of the five year period do I have to live in Canada for 2 years to keep my PR valid.
2. In case I dont go by 2008 and try to come later on before my PR card expires which is 2010, would they still let me come in.
3. My US GC processing hasnt even started, hopefully next year they might file, what do you guys advice....come over to Canada by 2008....

Really tough to make a decision, I really dont know how bad or good the job market in Canada is....I hear differing stories here on the portal.....

Out of the five year period do I have to live in Canada for 2 years to keep my PR valid. <Yes, you have to be back by Mar 2008 and then stay here for 2 years to maintain your residency or stay 3 years out of 4 to be eligible for citizenship>
2. In case I dont go by 2008 and try to come later on before my PR card expires which is 2010, would they still let me come in. <You will be at risk of losing your PR>
3. My US GC processing hasnt even started, hopefully next year they might file, what do you guys advice....come over to Canada by 2008.... <Largely depends on your personal/professional preferences>

Really tough to make a decision, I really dont know how bad or good the job market in Canada is....I hear differing stories here on the portal.....<no one can say for sure what will be it like in 2008>
