Hi CD's,
Please help in solving my Query. I have a unique situation here. I have arrived in Canada first time on Sept 5, 2005 and then was out of Canada for pretty good time(more than 2 and half years). But still I will be completing 748 days on Sept 4, 2010 before expiry of my PR Card. I know we have to complete 730 days minimum to get our Card renewed before our card expires. So now, I am looking for a urgent trip(friend's marriage) to India somewhere in May this year for 9 days. If I go then, I will be completing 739 days by Sept 4 , 2010. My queries are:
1. Will I be inviting any sort of trouble while coming back to Canada for the reason , I have just 9 days more apart from 730 days which still I have to complete by Sept 4 , 2010. I last visited India in March 2009 for 10 days. Since then I am working in a MNC here and have Apartment lease on my name.
2. In case of any issues, for calculation of days spent in canada, do Immigration Officers consider Indian Arrival stamps as reference for getting Information when I left Canada (We dont get stamped while leaving country in Canada).
Please advice for these queries. I cant understand if its a risky situation or comfortable one, given that I can prove my ties to Canada(with Apartment lease on my name, filing taxes, doing Job with Canadian company, and living with family here) and above that, I will be comfortably completing my 730 days by Sept 4, 2010.
Gurus are requested to help in taking right decision.
Thanks
No Problem, go ahead with your trip . As you have completed 730 days in 05 year there is no hitch.

Thanks for your reply friend. I havent completed it yet but will complete till my PR card expires. So going by that, in case of any issues, do Immigration officers take Indian Arrival stamps as reference to get date when I left canada.
No, They will ask for Indian Passport Stamps only in case of serious doubts as you will be completing 730 days in 5 year time. There is no Isuue . Do not worry. When you will come back to canada , they will just ask you how manydays out of canada & as you are going for few days only. there is no Problem. However, make sure that you return on time to complete your 730 days residency requirements.

Hello Gentlemen,
I have got my PR card on April 10, 2008, and we have so far stayed including me, my wife and daughter only for 7 days, in Canada.
Looking at recession, I would like to travel next only in April 2012.
That means I shall hardly complete 372 days in Canada.
My questions are,
1) will I be allowed to enter Canada on April 10, 2012, although the PR card is valid only for next 365 days ?
2) Looking at recession, will there be any Leaniancy in 730 days rule. By paying some fine, I can extend PR for another year, if I find things are normal at Canada ?
3) I shall be coming alone, meanwhile my wife and daughter's PR will be expiring, so later on my wife and daughter can join me once I get a passport.
Regards
Sunil
