Hello!!
We are moving into a new house. There is no space for the puja room in the ground floor. Is it okay to have the puja room in the first floor? Please advice, i'm very concerned!!! Thanks!!!
Upstairs is O.K but never in the basement. You should not live above the place of worship that is the idea.
Make sure if you have stairs in front of the main door then hang a crystal ball to deflect the lakshmi going out.

Cd's,
When our office used to design apartment in India, We did have puja room on each floor. So if we design a 1+3 apartement , Pooja rooms will be in the 4th floor too but it may just cater to an apartment unit in that floor (though being the top most one).
While designing houses we do have the Puja room in the ground floor ( ! st. floor as per Canadian terminology). We never locate the Pooja room to have a common wall with the toilet (side, or above) and we also have to locate it in such a way that we canot see the toilet from the puja room.
