This the most degrading thing I go thru sometimes in my office. Any opportunity or not our Desh is their point of attack, At first I thought maybe they are jealous because India is doing good in economy,by the way these people are our own neighbours not from the North but from South!!!

My question is how can I get help? I have tolerated them for sometime now.The more I keep quiet the more they are taking advantage of my naivity.
If anybody who reads this and find their blood boiling please write to me.

I have worked with people from the south of our desh land and being a Tamil, they have the utmost respect for Tamils and Tamil nadu. They love our Tamil movies and the actresses. They used consider me as a Hero since i told them that i have seen many actresses face to face while i was working in Chennai for a leading architectural company which has designed apts. for these actresses and even for the actor Rajinikath, Arjun and our former CM JJ.
However, these people are quite mad at the rest of the Indians due to IPKF. (Sankaracharya touched upon this subject a few months back). They are mad at the Indian govt. for sending the IPKF which is responsible for many rapes of SL females. And hence, if you are a North Indian speaking Hindi, they try to insult our country and motherland. TN once used to respect the SL tamils but after the assination of Rajiv Ghandhi, Even TN politicians are staying away/ distancing themselves from SL tamils.
Now what can we do. I would suggest nothing. Most of the SL's in Canada are linked to LTTE and to Gang's and would teach us a lesson if we ever tried to fool with them. They have a very close and strong network and I have heard my friends (the sri lankan co workers) telling me as to how they used to bully grown up Indian women at Gerrard street.
It is best to distance ourselves from people such as these for the good of ourselves and for the betterment of Desh land.
Also while working in a factory with them, they made a north indian woman (her husband was a poilice officer in India) cry b'cos they called her a "stupid woman" while she was working. And mind it , she had been working there for 3 years and the SL's for 10 years. The manager called me and asked me what went wrong? and i said that i did not see or hear anything. The manager did not even warn the SL's. Next day, everything went on as usual.

I totally agree with you guys. Where I work, They have a bunch of red necks and they make fun of India and Canada. The point is it is very difficult to defend our countries in office and if I cross a line and defend it too much, The standard response is "If it is that great , why don't you go back". At that point, I am out of answers.

Going to Manager etc. is not an option as he is probably more close to these bunch of yahoos than to me and Once co-workers know that you are a party to any of the discrimination issues, they would distance from you.That would mean total isolation at office.

So I guess I try and avoid to get into these "country debates" as such and just focus on work although the situation may not be perfect and it adds a lot of stress to the job.

Saying anything against them gets all these guys together and that makes it even worse. So it is "1 against 100" as they say .

India is surrounded by wildlife on all 4 sides . Just look at Bangladesh - we have already put up a barbed fence around that sanctuary . And the big zoo to our northwest .
