I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
It is all about the money honey. Everyone out to make a quick buck. It is not worth it. How much can you eat for 8.99$ + taxes... Indian food is made - very expensive while it is not so, and tastes not so good. And the service courtesy is pathetic esp Brar Sweets - the supervisor - stone faced - discourteous - love him to hate him.
I have no suggestion to offer you but tell you to be frugal when it comes to spending your money on Indian food. don't fall into the trap.

A CANADIAN INDIAN
village of india is not expensive. It is a good joint. Good food during week-ends.
The one I like for lunch buffet (although I feel the food is alternatively good on different days) is Sangam near Hwy 10 and Dundas in Mississauga.
If you go there, go around 1:00 p.m., they don't have all dishes ready till then. But when they do have everything laid out, they have HUGE variety of choices (both veg and non-veg.) and they also have about 6/7 desserts to choose from which are pretty good too. Many time, they even have free kulfi.
The service-level is different on different days, but since this a buffet, I don't have enough expectations to be disappointed. It will however put you 11 bucks in the hole, taxes and tip included.
Brar in Mississauga isn't that great, I found. However I heard the one in Brampton near Steeles and Kennedy is extremely good and there's uslaly long (1 hour) delays there on weekend evenings.

Are you there?
Yaar yeh Pakwanchi kaisa hai ?
I had once want to go again !! what are your takes ...it is at hurontario and dundas

What can be imagined, can be achieved.
Pakwanchi is good for their Biryani. I do not care for the rest. I figured out that if you buy the 'shaan' biryani masala and follow instructions then the biryani taste the same.
As for Brar (Dundas/Mavis) the samosas and mithai is excellent when fresh. They do hesitate to give you to taste.
But i get puffed up when i eat their buffet. May be too much of baking soda.
PS: India gate is a good brand of basmati rice.
I tried Saffron tree near University ave and Gerrard st in the Univ/Hospital area downtown.
It is nice, (10$ buffet) lunch time it was full of affluent looking desis ...i took some goras( i dont like using this term but just to describe ) with me ...good food esp the butter chicken ( lababdaar umm..)...rest was ok fare ...now more than me these guys want to go there again .
