When you generalize Canada about desi restaurants it would be hard to tell any. For a specific Metro area I can give you my favorites.
As I lived in different parts of Metro toronto here is my list.
The Host in Markham (or Richmond Hill), consistenly great food. Nice atmosphere. Not that expensive.
Avani in Mississauga. Great atmosphere. Very expensive.
Sankalp in Brampton. Great Mumbai/Gujarati style South Indian Dishes.
Brar in Mississauga. Overall very good, bit crowded but really worth waiting for seats. The other Brars in the metro area are not that good.
