hi,
on 22nd i came to toronto by airindia flight. i boarded the flight at trivandrum on 22nd 430 am IST and was supposed to reach toronto by 930 pm eastern time.. but due to technical faults the flight was delayed by around 22hrs at bermingham.... we were inside the flight for around 6hrs and then taken to a hotel around 40min away and put up there for around 8-9 hrs and no food was given.. then we were taken back to the airport by 11am and then again there was delay and finally the flight started off around 4-430 pm.... we were given a coupon of 5pounds for food in the airport...

i am very angry at what airindia people had done and want to file a complaint against their in humane behaviuor....

please suggest some

You should complain to Air India President or higher authority about your experience and DEMAND compensation. If you know any other passengers in the same flight, tell them to do the same. If we, the customers, don't take their mis-treatment and tell others about it, may be Air India will do something. It is said that one dissatisfied customer tells 10 other potential customer and eventually it affects Air India's sales.

Hope for the best.

You can go to consumer court in india ( or somebody can represent you there ) ... that is the cheapest and best ( I am assuming you bought your tickets from india ) ...
other is send an email to air india guy's .
I think they have an office in Toronto downtown too ...
In the meantime you can send your complaint http://www.airindia.com/contactus.asp

Certain things in India never change!! one of that is AIR INDIA.

Air India to the Gulf sector is the worst, they just treat you like s*&$

One of my friend in Muscat used to say it is not AIR INDIA but

"HAIR INDIA" (malayalees & tamilians will understand the meaning).

Best thing Drgopoos can do is to make a decission that you will never
use Air India again. And tell everybody you know about this.

Forget the whole espisode and move on with your life. Fly another airline and you'll never get anything out of fighting with Air India.

Everytime an AirIndia lands in Toronto Pearson and it is expected to fly back the next day but every time there is a 2-3 day delay due to maintenance repairs. This is happening without any concern to the passengers and as everyone knows that Pearson is the Costliest airport in the world to land and do maintenance in.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

We all know about AI service in this forum. they are not even going to reply to you even if you write to President of AI, So donot even care.
Donot fly the Air line again. That is the best that you can do.
Once i flew by Gulf Air to Chennai and my Suitcase came broken. At the airport, the lady overseeing the unloading, told me she sae personally each and every unloading and told me that I must have checked in a broken suitcase at Muscat. When i told her that i checked in at Toronto, She still told me taht the damage was negligible and asked me to forget about it. I fought with her and got a damage notice. I then followed up with Gulf Air office personally in Chennai. They told me to leave the suitcase with them and come after 2 days , during which they will look for a lock smith to repair the suitcase. Since i held an Indian passport, I could not threaten them by saying taht i will take this issue to the Canadian Embassy/ Parliment/ Foreign affairs of Canada. I told them that I was staying in a 5 * hotel and that they should reimburse me the cost of the stay for 2 days. Then they gave in and asked me the price of the suitcase. I told them Rs. 1200. They gave me Rs. 960 (with 20 % depreciation charge).
So what i am trying to say is taht it is very hard to take Indians/ Indian airline to task. What the president of AI will think is that," I am going to retire in 4 years. I am Assured of my pension etc....This is a govt. co. So why should i care".
So this is the kind of mentality.
So As Sankaracharya said " Move on". Never fly AI/IA again.

we had the same experience. our flight was delayed(both coming from India and while going India) by 22hours. they said its a technical issue.

but after talking to air hostess and other people they told us that AI actually join two or three fights together coz of less number of passengers.

so they save money by not taking flights empty or half full.

a good technical reason :D
