Hello :
Person A has bachelors frm India and wants to pursue further studies in Canada. She was asked to get some credits to be eligible for Masters.
Can some one pl guide as to how to go about this ? Are there counsellors in univ that help even if u r not student of that univ ? Does she need to get admission for a year or 2 in one univ and get canadian degree or just credits from dift univ can do ? Is Athabasca courses / credits recognized in all univ ?
Evaluation frm u of T is under process.
Pl guide, thanks
Hi There
I assume that the evaluation from U of T will shed a lot of light into her qualifications and what level she is equiv. to.
Once that is done, you(she) can ask for a student advisor at the University to help them determine what would be required.

Prsn A seems 2 hve a 3 yr Bchlrs dgree. That xplains the situation. She needs 2 do enroll fr a Mstrs degree and take adtnl courses to complete the 4 yr requirement.
Why anyone wants to waste more time in studying what they have already studied and in much better way. I prefer Indian education than Canadian.
If it is only for getting a good job, then better try for some post graduate course. Well, it is also a choice and interest of a person if they want to study.
Everyone know that you need to have Canadian education or experience to get a good job. Question to be asked is what do you mean by Canadian education and Experience?
I realize the question was not directly answered.
1) if someone chooses to upgrade their undergraduate education by taking individual courses at various universities, they will face the headache of having to request/pay for transcripts from each school they attend. For ex/ if you take 5 undergrad courses at different schools, when you apply for a graduate program you will have to submit 5 different transcripts.
2) Athabasca University is recognized across Canada - as it is affiliated with University of Calgary (correct me someone..if I am wrong, this is my understanding). Its a good option for those who wish to study distance/online.

Morning rain : thanks for ur replies but my problem is if she wants to do MBA, additional courses / credits are not considered by MBA institutes even if it is athabasca.
