The partially mummified body of a man dead for more than a year has been found in a chair in front of his television, which was still on, authorities said.
Vincenzo Ricardo, 70, apparently died of natural causes, said Dr. Stuart Dawson, Suffolk County's deputy chief medical examiner.
Police found Ricardo's body this week when they investigated a report of burst pipes.

I dont understand how you cannot have any communication with someone for 1 year. He must have had unpaid bills, unanswered phone calls, credit card payments etc..How did his TV channel continue so long if he missed his monthly payments, what about hydro and heating bills...there is something missing in the whole story...
A sad end though...

Good point. It could be possible with automatic bank deductions.
His answering machine / voice message box might be full.
His letter box might be full.
This is the special part of world we are living, so anything is possible.
