Hello Everyone,

I have been in the travel industry for some time now and business has been neither very good nor very bad. I would however like to brainstorm a few ideas into expanding the business. My problem is that most of the business comes through sales of tickets to India. This is not very profitable. I would like to sell more of cruises and vacations. However very few Desis (in my opinion) take any such trips. If anyone could suggest low cost promotion/ marketing schemes it would be great. I would also like to have suggestions on how to reach a market which would include people outside the Desi community.

I am also looking for a business partner who would be interested in working with me on this.

Hi there,

I am there to help you immediately with something I need.

I need to book a cruise for 8-12 days for the Mediterranean which should have a few islands of Greece and if possible, a day or so in Istanbul.

I want to combine this with a land tour of Italy (Rome/Florence/Milan and Venice) for about a week. So overall I need to book a holiday of land and cruise in Italy and Greece (plus Turkey if possible) for about 19 days or so.

If I can get a cruise starting and ending in Rome, it would be wonderful. I want to start my holiday on 28th July or so.

I live in Concord, so if I have to meet you to discuss this, it can be done.

PS By the way, I know a lots of Desis who have taken such cruises/vacations and keep taking it. You just have to develop such social contacts. I took a vacation (all inclusive) to Mexico in December 2005, then Christmas break in Dec 06 to Vegas. Many of my friends take such vacations every year, or atleast once in two years.
