Hi Folks:
For a family of three (2 adults and a child), I am getting a quote of $268 per month (Manulife Comboplus Enhanced) from healthquotes.ca. Is this a good rate? Are there other companies (similar to Johnson/Unifund for auto) that can give better rates than the four found on healthquotes.ca?
Are health insurance expenses tax-deductible in Canada? In the US, if you are an employee, they come out of your paycheck and are deductible at source. Here in Canada, I am the only full-time employee working for my employer. Will my employer be able to pay me the cost of my insurance as "benefits" rather than as "salary"? If he cannot do that, can I deduct the insurance sum while filing my annual taxes?
Thanks
Hi,
What exact kind of coverage are you looking for? Just health and dental or critical illness and disability as well?
Hi,
I am primarily interested in health, dental, and drug insurance. I would not mind finding out more about the rates for disability and critical illness insurance. At first glance, the rates for 100k of critical insurance coverage seemed pretty high considering that the chances for someone getting a critical illness at age 34 are not too high.

Hi Naresh,
I need the ages of both you and your spouse and the child in order to give you quotes.
Also please be advised that for dental -bridges, crowns and a couple of others kick in after 2 years.
However if you supply your ages as requested, I can send you the quotes vide pm. If you wish you may pm me your ages instead of posting them on the site.
Click the msg icon at the bottom of my post to send me a pm.
