Hi All,
I'll be landing to Canada soon. Thanks to this forum I got lot of help here.
I am sure there may be many people who would be landing soon and would have bought health insurance. Can anyone please suggest me which health insurance is good.
Earlier I thought I would not take it but due to swine flu I am bit scared now as I am travelling with my 3 yr old.
Also please let me know if the health insurance will cover any such problems.
Thanks and Regards,
Navdeep Singh.
If you landing in Ontario, you have a waiting period of three months after which you get coverage. For this waiting period, you can buy private insurance from companies like http://www.coverme.com/help-me-choose/gaps-in-provincial-plan.jsp?MKT=W9G.
For other provinces, check their websites for waiting period or http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/hcs-sss/delivery-prestation/ptrole/index-eng.php#1.

Thanks for your reply.
I would be landing in Mississauga. I have been looking for insurance options.
I have shortlisted two of them, Tata AIG and ICICI Lombard.
Please suggest which is better.
Thanks,
Navdeep
All insurance companies have almost similar features. It is how they process the claim. The network of Tata AIG claims to be quite big for providing insurance claim, in case of whole America.
If u wish to return to India after a visit than the option of Reliance Insurance is quite economical than AIG and Lombard.
