tigercanada,

I have heard same story from many friends. Though you have good income and your parents do have strong establishment in your home country, they do this.

I think they have a (hidden) quota system where they only allow certain numbers of parents as a visitor. Try another time, they may get Visa.

Weird isn't it? Really I am unaware of another solution than reapply. Good luck.

Try contacting your local MP (here in Canada).

Has anyone actually successfully contacted their MP and got a vis refusal reversed?

I have done this and nothing happened.

The MP did everything possible, but the Canadian consulate does not give a hoot about some small town MP.

The story I heard is that the consulate receives dozens of phone calls and letters from MPs from all over Canada and they have basically stopped bothering.

I believe the story posted by GG is much closer to reality i.e. they have some sort of hidden, undocumented, random quota based on which they accept or reject applications.

I'm not sure if the quota is weekly, monthly or daily but the decision process is largely random with no appeal process.

Hello Everyone,
I know it's very disappointing when they reject the visitor visa applications of parents. I can feel the pain. Finally after doing all the hard work my parents just got 6 months single entry visa. This will be their trip to Canada. I did supply all required documents including my property, bank and employment papers and also i got a recommendation letter from local MP. I guess it helped in my case. Also my parents attached as much documents as they can from their end. Just to bring an important document that i have never seen anybody discussing about. In India your parents can obtain a Net Worthing certificate from Chartered accountant along with other relevant document. What it does it summarizes the total worth$$$ of applicant. In one document it tells the total assets that an applicant posses. I think its pretty important.
I wish all the best to all desis like me who wish to see their parents with them in Canada. May god bless everybody and get their parents visa easily.
