Why are we trying to categorize ourselves ?.
The recent and ongoing issue in Britain, Australia and in Bangalore, India is an eye opener for how divided we Desi's are in terms of identifying ourselves with our Nationality.
The international news media is always reporting "The Indian Doctor was arrested in Australia", which in a way is RIGHT. But then are all Indian Doctors terrorist?.
Hats off to the Indian External Affairs and the Prime Minister to take a Pro Active step to obtain consular access and also talk to the PM of UK. In the same concern what has happened to those Canadians struggling in Chinese prison ?. I still remember the age old question cropping up in these very own site whether the Indian government will provide safe way out or help when an Indian national is caught in a situation on foreign soil. I myself have written tonnes on the Lebanese incident.
The reason why all these questions came upto me was when I thought about the Oath the Doctors take upon graduation where they are supposed to save lives of people and fight till the last to save lives of terminally ill people also. The issue of Dr.Death(who was recently released from US prison-Dr.Kherborkian/Eusthanisia being legal in Netherlands by Doctors) is again a onslaught on the Oath. I did a simple Google search on these topics and I landed upon a very controversial site whose link I'm not going to provide as it is highly EXPLOSIVE. But it also has lots of posting from Canada. I have taken the following information from that site for your information:
The statement by Dr. Shiv Pande, former chairman of the British International Doctors Association, said the two Indian nationals in custody were Muslims again opens up the pandoras box that there are Indian Hindu's, Indian Muslims and Indian Christians.
Why cannot we be simple Indians ? and in the same tokens be Canadians ?.
NOTE: The issue of Innocent until proven Guilty holds for these Doctors from where ever they are hailing.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

Last week in a FIFA U-20 world cup soccer match held at toronto in between Canada and Chile, Canadian citizens of chile origin have supported Chile and celebrated victory of Chile over Canada, the TV commentators proudly said about them and shown those fans waving.
They have left Chile and became canadian citizens. Should not they have supported Canada? Should they celebrate defeat of Canada?
Call ourselves anything we wish- it's supposedly a country where there is freedom of speech.
