I m canadian citizen and working abroad for quit sometimes ....my health card and drivers Licence has expired is there any way I can renew it online..as I heared that I should be in the health card office Phsically...your comments will be highly appreciated

Needing to renew the Drivers license is ok .. but why renew health card.. U can always apply again once u come back.. U are not eligible for health coverage anyway while u are away..

Stop trying to cheat the system and make it more expensive for people who use it..

10 years ago OHIP included dental and there was no waiting period..
Today there is 3 months waiting period because ppl used to comeback just for using medical services.

Since you are a Canadian Citizen and a bonafide resident, I feel that you have been away for an extended period of time and these cards have expired a long time ago and you have not returned for quite a while.
There are more stringent measures being taken by the respective Govenments to make these items scarce to invaders of privacy. Security is the order of the day and it is going to be a lot more diffucult to duplicate, because it will call for similar and other means of personal identification to provide you with another card for a different purpose. That way you will be the only one who will have a unique means of proving that it is only one individual and it is you. There will be no clones, though they say there is always another individual who is an exact twin to you some where else in another part of this world.
It is a fallcy that we say that we do not take anything from here when we leave this world. That should get your thought process going. We do take our identity and of course things associated with it. To provide you with one. Your credit rating and the score.!!
Though grammatically correct, we can never say "I am not here"!

So, if you have been away for more than seven months, then, you start again with a clean slate. There are provinces like Alberta that waive the wait time of ninety days and in case you are in a bind, please do get there first and find the required treatments, may be it will cost you for the card but the treatment is free. But wait times are always a head ache.
You will have to do all of this in person, because you have to be photographed by them. They need a picture of your head and only you can bring the same and provide it. Do wear a tie/ or be in your Sundays Best. These cards are now becoming an I.D. Card and becoming a part of day to day life. Don't you want to look stoic?
