Some one hit my car ( Just above rear left hand wheel)
I think it probably happen while removing car from parking
I am not sure how much will be cost of repairs.
I have TD Comprehensive insurance with $450.00 deductible for damages
My question is :
If cost of repairs is around 200-300, will it be better to get it repair myself & avoid Police report etc & also insurance premium to be more in future
Or
If cost of repairs is more say 500 & above, will it be better to call police & get report & then repair by paying deductible 450 amount. In this case whether my Insurance premium will go UP in future?
What is advisible in HIT & RUN case. Park car in some shopping center area & call Police OR Just go to any police station & make report

Dont even think of misleading - you might land in hot water; get an estimate - if less than deductible pay it yourself as it wont make a difference even if reported.
BTW I believe, if you report to police; you have to report to insurer as well.
