I have a lot of documents that need to get attested/evidenced for immigration purpose.

I am looking at getting this done somewhere in Toronto.

I was thinking of going to the courts or the police station ?

Any ideas, your help is much appreciated.

If you are a permanent resident, you can visit any of the settlement agencies close to you and most of them offer free services including attestation of documents.

If Mississauga is convenient to you, you can visit us at Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre(Phone:905-629-1873) and we can attest these papers for you
