Hi Guys,

I have a questions about Surrey, BC.

I am actually looking to buy my own Townhouse, and shortlisted Surrey for it's affordability and access to Skytrain. No, I don't want to live in Vancouver, BBy, Coquitlam, Richmond, as these areas are out of my pocket - being a new immigrant. Plus, I don't see any difference between these areas and Surrey. I visited Surrey a few times, and found it to be a normal suburb. Rather, I found it better than Vancouver. Broad streets, better shopping complex, and less traffic congestion (I am not sure of it, as I visited on weekend).

Anyhow, my question to the people live in Surrey is - what areas should I look for housing, and what to avoid - ofcourse Whally.

Oh, by the way, I take public transit to work. I saw some houses near 68th ave. (i think somewhere near Strawberry Hill) and found them conveniently located.

Please suggest. Thank you all in advance.

Hi Febpreet

I used to stay on 72nd and 120th ST. It is a good place to live and close to everything Important ( Chevron gas station , safeway, Bus station) .

Hi Febpreet,

I feel the same way about Surrey and the rest of Metro Vancouver.

We moved to Surrey too, 3 months back, and are enjoying the suburban life here. We live in Fleetwood, a couple of blocks from Fraser Highway. It is a very nice locality, close to everything. Shops, community centre, schools and bus stop are very close by. You may want to consider this area too. I've been to Strawberry hill complex a few times, and know a friend who lives in that area. It is a good choice as well.

The commute (if you work in Vancouver) is longer, and I take a bus and a skytrain. It takes me an hour to get to work, but definitely beats crossing Port Mann during rush hour. The only thing I hate is having to wait/walk in the rain and cold.

Good luck with your house hunting!

Hi Guys,

I have finally shortlisted a townhouse in Surrey (128 and 63rd ave.). Just want to know from someone living in Surrey, if it's a good area to live? It's known as Panorama Ridge. I liked the area personally, but need to know about it from someone already familiar with the same.

I would be so greatful to someone replying this and provide me some of the reviews of this area.

Thanks a lot.
