Hello all CDs

I make a decision to move to Surrey BC CANADA from USA Arizona. I am looking a place where indian community is available and looking for an apartment that is near to Skytrain station as i am not going to buy car immidiately. I have a job offer in hand and planning to come by end of April.

So could someone on this forum help me links of the aprtment landlords that suits above things ? so that i can plan my move more smoothly ?

thanks

I dont have information about apartment landlords. However I wanted to comment that Surrey is mostly indians. Doesnt matter where in surrey you live.

In fact the lower mainland has indians everywhere. Indian stores as well. what area will you be working in?

My parents recently moved to Surrey, right now they have gone back to India and My brother (single) is living in Surrey, if you are vegetarian .... he is looking for room mate for 2-3 months. I have also placed ad. in classifieds. Even if you do not want to move in with him you can contact him (if he could help you he would) he does not have car yet. My dad used to travel by Sky train, bus service is pretty good.

Well My parents did move to Surrey but they stayed there for 3months and my brother is single, we live in Seattle... so I do know know much about apartments but Surrey area is full of Indians. I do not have any knowledge about the schools either. We went to PICS office i think if you contact them they might be of help to you too and in the mean time I'll try to call some friends in surrey if they have more info.

I have Canadian Licence (we are Canadian citizens (from Toronto) working in USA) but my husband has US Licence now. We go to Surrey almost every week , he drives, never had any problem.

In Seattle I have heard that we are covered by our Insurance company for 3 months but I have been drivig for more than a year now never got into trouble. I believe same would be true for BC too.

Call your insirance company they would guide you.
I am not sure how much I am helping but I guess I am not the best person to answer your questions.

Hey! try seattleindianDOTcom website too. Lot of people come and go to USA/Canada they might have more info.
Good Luck.
