Do any body on this forum have experience or idea how we can send deceased's ashes back to India respectfully to attain closure. The ashes will travel alone from USA at this point however it will be received by deceased's children at Mumbai airport.
I appreciate your input, if possible please provide link for the source of infomation or contact phone numbers. I will call them personally and collect further information.

Take them directly to Mumbai, Either by freight or escorted.

You have to contact the Indian High Commission and pay them the fees that it calls for. Then with the supporting documents such as death certificated etc., approach any of the air lines or their service counter and book the same just as any other package but with due regards and respect to the deceased. Make sure that they handle it as gently and delicately as they would, a baby. Mark it FRAGILE. Send it insured. Then, they will handle the same under that catagory of materials.

Tell the Airlies that it is to be picked up upon arrival at the Airport, just like any time sensitive material. (Perishables) After receipt of the way bill, fax the details to the recipients. Give them the flight number and the ETA and ask them to present themselves and identify and receive the same, signing and releasing them.

Please thank them after that personally with a letter. Courtesy call for it.

May the soul test in peace.

Freddie.
