You need to have a Bell landline to use SearsConnect service.
It works from your home landline. Sometimes it doesn't work with some service providers so phone at this tel- 1-888-680-1212 to check and it is called "Easytalk more plan."
For ex, It doesnt work with Shaw telephones here in Alberta...
Before changing over to shaw, my friend even called them and they said, no problem, but in the end they couldnt do it....
YA, sears customer service for long distance is sometimes a joke...
A piece of info to share with all CD's
Sears Connect service Easy Talk is $ 23.99 fixed a month( 30 days) for 800 minutes provided we call a land line- cell phone is 20 cents a minute.
I have received a bill where all of the above is true except now their billing cycle is 48 days. I used 1146 minutes in 46 days. They billed me as "out of bundle" at a rate of 6.9 cents a minute for all minutes above 800 minutes during this time.
The balance over 800 minutes ( i used 786 minutes in 1st 30 days ) should go to the next month bill.
When I called them they said they would check and get back to me in a month.
Then I looked at previous 3 months bills, same issue.
I would advise all CD's using Sears to check their bills and call Sears.
You may also share your experiences about how you solved / did not solve the problem.
Regards,
Rajiv
