I would like to bring this to Desis Attention..
Recently I went to this place called " The Nilgiris" at Markham Road, Scarborough , a popular take-out Place with a small Dine-in section. I ordered a Dish and noticed couple of Plastic strings in the Dish. On top of that , there was Human hair in the side dish also..
I thought I could bring this to the owner's attention. The lady came to my table, looked at the plastic strings, grabbed the plate and threw it in the Bin. Then she came over to me and asked me where is the String ? to which I replied in the Bin.. She was so much in denial that she started to yell and scream and threatened me to get thrown out of the Restaurant because I complained.
I firmly told her that she can't throw me out because of a complaint, paid the money in full and walked out. I have filed a complaint with the City authorities
and they are investigating in this matter. I believe there were couple of complaints abt food quality and Hygiene abt the same place.
I am writing this as many of our fellow cds might be going here with their families and just wanted to alert them.
Take care.
Tamtru,
I am not able to understand your post fully.
What are these "Plastic strings". Are they "strings" that are used to bead "beads" .
You made the first mistake of paying for the dish, thereby acknowledging that you were partially at fault. Most establishments (Even Desi ones) do acknowledge their mistakes and try to rectify it. You should have stood firm in not paying for the dish and / or requesting a replacement if you wanted to pay for it, because of the fact that they lady of the shop was the one who grabbed it and threw it in to the garbage.
I donot live around that area but I shall send a mass e-mai l to my desi friends asking them to be careful of that establishments.
