Hi All,

We would like to install dish channel to get indian program? Can you please let me know, if anyone have the contact to do the installation.

Also which channel I will get after we install the dish?

I wanted to find out if this was legal? I heard from a friend that this was illegal, that is, installaing a disc to receive all Indian channels. I even found that many install such a dish to get American channels.

I donot think that it is illegal. The building bylaw allows for a dish but in the back yard. You can encroach at the rear and hence i really donot think that it is illegal. Also there is an advt. that tells that stealing satellite signals is Stealing but it does not highlight/advertise any consequences. It must be just to frighten first time installers of satellite dish (just like the HIV needle in the gas pumps. I wonder how many seniors muct be beliving this rumour).
Our apt.. does not allow installing the satellite dishes.
Any CD who has been caught can enlighten us.

When I meant illegal I meant the signals. Now since when has stealing become legal? Why does one want to know the consequences when one knows it is illegal!

Installing the dish is legal, BUT decoding the signal IS ILLEGAL.

Consequences - as yet, to my knowledge there's no such law. Almost every 2nd dish you see out there is illegal. These receivers have flooded the market. For those in the market for a receiver just be careful, there are tons (and I emphasize tons) of clones in the market.

I know of someone who works for Bell ExpressVu but has 3 illegal dishes in his backyard.

You can get Dish N3twork as well as B3V in Canada.

Just as an FYI for those living in apt. bldgs. and thinking of installing the dish indoor, the signal WON'T go thru glass windows.

Disclaimer: I don't know how the mods are going to react to this thread.
