Sale Canadian Cigarette in INDIA

I have very good connection with local tobacco manufacture in Canada.
They have offer me to find a market in India for Canadian cigarette.
I would like to know some ideas, like permission, duty, rules and regulations.

I can sale cigarette either on exiting name from Canada or I can make my own name , they will finance everything in the beginning , all I have to do is find a proper market and connections.

Is any body has idea please let me know since I haven’t deal with tobacco yet.

Smoking is injuries to health and detrimental to the environment and other non smokers so I will not recommend Tobacco products. ITC and governor beedi are damaging greater extent of Indians male and female lungs in the brand names of Kings, Wills and Scissors.

Tobacco (Cigerette's) is very costly in Canada. I have seen many people pick up the butts from the road and lighting them up or smoke 1/2 a cigerette and preserve the other half for another time ( which I donot see in India). So it would not be a good idea to buy cigerette's in Canada and then sell them in India. It is a very poor business venture and the cigerettes in Canada are not world class or exceptional. I had bought better (and cheaper) variety of cigerettes in Malaysia (1997).
May be you could go to Cuba and buy cuban cigars and try to selll them in India or take the approach of going to a african country (which is famous for Cigerette and is low cost) and then exporting them to India. With your Canadian passport, it may be very easy to do.

I observed that cigarettes were more expensive at Canadian duty free and also in Europe - I got the same Marlboro s for half the price or lesser at Indian duty free . Gulf used to have cheaper cigarettes .

REmind you , cigarette is costly in Canada due to the TAX. or else it has really good price compare to european.

i have seen big demand in india for imported Cigarette.

and yet not a good brand name from canada.

so if i m able to pull some market then we;ll be able to launch canadian cigarette with either my own brand or existing .

BUT I ALSO KONW THAT IT IS NOT EASY TO GET PERMISSION IN INDIA JUST LIKE THAT. THERE IS SO MANY RULES AND PERMISSION U NEED TO GET.
THAT IS WHY IT IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT TO INVOLVE MINISTER OR ANY POLITICAL CONNECTIONS.
