Looking for east indian senior's home, its name, address, telephone number in GTA for our contacting them.

Please also advise which of the following options should be better for a retired couple like us:

1) To become a paying guest (vegetarian food), as we also intend to spend some months in Inda each year subject to our health permits?

2) To rent a condo in GTA - no preference of the area, as we being new to GTA?

3) To buy a 2 bedroom condominium in GTA - near a shopping mall, an indian store and near to a doctor's clinic?

4) to live in a seniors home?

Your advice and guidance would help us to finalize our decision.

Your above question and choices might soon become popular with many desis living in Canada who are in your age group. In the next decade, people over 50s will be the highest percentage of population in Canada.

Choosing a place to live depends upon your lifestyle chioces, amenities, demography preferences, weather, medical needs, and community to name a few.

Sometimes, it may make sense to live on rent, if you intend not living in Canada for some months in a year.

As far as retirement homes are concerned, it might not be the best choice.

Retirement homes targeted with desis in mind might already exist or may soon be built in Canada.

An affordable condo apartment can also be ideal, somewhere near many amenities.

Downtown Mississauga is poised to be one such place. In fact, a popular retirenment home community; by Amica, is already up and running.

To find out what you can expect from Mississauga City Centre in the near future, read my blog http://condopundit.com/wordpress/?p=17

I read your post and was thinking that all your options sound suitable. If you do research on each maybe one will b e more suitable for you. The paying guest option may be good for example if you find someone who offers a comfortable arrangement. Similarly a nice seniors home can be a good place if there is alot of interactive activities and other seniors your age. You may want to try some independent condo's close to facilities. I have heard of independent living apartments where you are connected to a central place where you can go to mix with others, have meals etc. http://www.shannonoaks.com/for example.

Hope this helps. all the best with your decision
