Are you really living without 'No cell phone, no i-phone, no ipad, no cable, no dish, no flat screen mega TV, no ipod, no e-readers, no etc'?
I am surprised that you are still married.

1. Yep, I am really without any of the above and don't miss anything, except the cell phone once a while.
2. I am married to my wife...not the gizmos...so, yes, happily married
I love reading, so thought about ipad or kindle, but I love the fell and smell of paper books and the vast collection I have.
This reminds me of the movie "Into the Wild" where a youth abandones everything to live off in the Alaskan wild. But things doesn't turnout as expected and he dies of starvation.
Here's the wikipedia article on the real person behind the movie.

Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda has put the equation of happiness in a very simple formula: Happiness H = Desires fulfilled / Desires entertained. The one who has minimum desires is most happy. To put in other words, one who has little and wants less is happier than the one who has much and wants more!

anyone good at algebra would understand this simple yet powerful formula.

The very fact that you are replying to this blog at CD, proves that you are not away from tech. You have proved your statement as incorrect.

I think the objective might be to keep wants at a minimum and be contended rather than running after them .... One may be contended with a basic PC and then yet another may want an I Pad as well as an I Phone 4 G ........ What ever makes one comfortable ............... I personally belong to the former category though I must admit I have hardly used my PC since my laptop came 4 yrs ago ...
On an unrelated note , I was at the Apple Store @ Sherway Gardens yday and OMG -- what a crowd and what gadgets ..... Is Apple slated to rise high with contemporary products like the i pad and the I Phone 4G ..... I mean Apple was always around but Mac based systems were never the rage of the day unlike these 2 products ............ There s still a line up for the 4G ...
