Out of curiosity, why don't you want to put it on a DVD. Worst case you loose 20cents & may be some time.

dvdrip just means the file is ripped from a dvd..its not an extension...maybe the toorent u downloaded does not have an extension (means the uploader forgot to include the correct extension)
There is a utility that u can use to find the extensions of the files u have downloaded.

Make sure u download the definitions and follow the correct procedure...u'll get the extension..
