Hi
I have received a T4 from my ex-employer, and detected that it shows approx. $500 more as my income for the yr 2007. I have verified my bank record for those 2 months, and I am correct.
I contacted the HR, and they said that they are going to look into it, and if there's a mistake on their part, they will re-isue a revised T4. Now, I am not sure as to whether they will really do anything about it or not, since they are closing their operations in Canada from June 30th of this year. Company's name is Sitel (formerly Clientlogic) in Clarica Center, Toronto.
Incase they ignore my request for a revised T4, what should I do? Do I let the CRA know about this? Can I file my taxes less $500 as income?
Advise from tax experts would be appreciated.
Thanks

Here are your options:
1. If you have the last pay stub which has the right amount, prepare your taxes with that amount and attach a copy of it to your returns and MAIL it in (not efile or netfile). Attach a letter explaining your situation. If you ahve some correspondence from the company which mentions that they will re-issue the T4, attach that too.
2. Call up CRA at 1-800-959-8281, and ask for a supervisor. Tell him/her your case and they will advise. You should be lucky to get a supervisor who can guide you accordingly. Not all of them are knowledgable
3. Wait until you get the revised T4 and then file you return.
