I own a TOM TOM 910 with 20GB hard drive built in that stores US/Canada/European Maps. Their latest models come with auto map updates. The unit works superb and has itinerary building capability. Its reception in congested areas and in the midst of high-rises is superb and distance indications almost perfect. It has touch screen and remote programming options, built-in MP3 player and Photo viewer, bluetooth and several other cool features. TOM TOM is my recommendation.

I just bought the TOM TOM 920 online - waiting for its delivery.

I heard the TOM TOM 930 has free traffic subscription for life - but its pricey right now.

Hi Rajeev,

I believe TOM TOM has a map sharing feature... with TOM TOM Buddies. Can we make each other buddies? I have a GO 920 and will appreciate some tips about discovering some good features..

Hi Hiren,

I believe that Map Sharing is available to Go 920 & up models. When I purchased my GO910, this did not exist. I am not sure if I am eligible to subscribe to it. It is free for a year though for eligible buyers and thereafter there is a nominal annual charge.

Hi Rajeev,

In my understanding, MAP sharing is between any 2 TOM TOM users - it could be any model and any date. Infact it is somewhat similar to a forum of users to share thier resources, tips etc. For eg. if you have stored a collection of restaurants which you would recommend or would visit often, then you can share that info with your TOM TOM buddies. Its like personalised list of POIs. But it can include interesting detours programmed by experience.

I am still researching its utlities.

The one with 1 year subsrciption is the traffic updates which is provided by a 3rd party.

If there are other CDs using the TOM TOM please enlighten me more...

Hiren
