Mumbai Maazi Ladki ...
Rajesh's point worth noting, even if you don't want to forward it to others.
To add to the list - some of the MPs (and MPPs, sorry MLAs) are renting their apartments / bunglows. I have visited one myself.
The so called VIP quota on railway ticket were also available on price, obviously they were making money from it too.
Shameless folks!!

A Proud Indian Canadian
I am no fan of politicians or MP’s, but we Indian’s have a habit of screaming about everything connected to politicians.
For a country like India to have an expense of Rs.171 crores per year (as per your calculations) is nothing. Let me give you some comparison ….. Mukesh Ambani gave a private jet to his wife … cost Rs. 272 Crores. Still you think spending so much money on our MP’s is a waste. With the high costs involved in fighting elections to taking care of your constituency, the benefits are actually nothing.
If you really want to do something to spread awareness about the politician’s, then you stress on accountability.

Countries do not run for free. You need to spend money on government, parliament, and everything else needed to run a democracy.
You can cut down on unnecessary ministries and bureaucracy but that is not the point raised by OP.
