When you take your car in to a garage for accident repairs, the information usually goes into the computer which is connected to the Manufacturer's system.
So if you go to Ready honda to repair ur civic which was in a accident it ultimately gets to Honda. Once there it gets reported to carfax/carproof etc.
IF you go to a local shop or replace door yourself then it would not get reported in carfax.
Big jobs/where there is usually a insurace clain goes to big dealers and hence end up showing in carfax..
I would always do a carfax report before buying used. You will get more information then what you missed
Well while i was shopping for a car last year i almost bough a civic from Ready Honda. If i would have bought the civic i would have definately got it from there (cannot beat prices). However i ended up getting something else from guelph.
