Many Carfax reports are inaccurate. I did a Carproof on one vehicle that I was about to buy, it had accident on Carproof but Carfax was clean, which was offered by seller.

The seller mechanic is saying if the estimate was for $1200 for rear end collision as given in Carproof, that means not much damage, it will cover only rear bumper and paint, there will be no structural damage.
