Alberta registry shows only if the vehicle has been salvaged and it won’t show any report. Carproof claims all insurance claims are reported to them and hence it can proof if there has been any damage.
I dont think so, as I recently did a check with Alberta registry. Couldnt find any difference with other reports. I got all details like change in ownership etc.
Now the question arises, who reports the insurance claims to carproof??? It should be the corresponding registries. If they dont report to Carproof, then what ever be their claim, u waste ur money.
If Carproof claims like that, then it is false. No insurance company or registry is obligated to report anything to carfax/carproof/similar private entities. And many insurance comapnies dont do it, other than what is mandated by govn.
Now, a carproof/registry report is not a solid proof of anything. If u find out they missed something, the max they may do is return ur 20 bucks. Accidents that are settled outside insurance are NEVER reported and will never be available in ANY reports. The "BUYBACK GUARANTEE" they offer is gimmick. Read the fineprint and you'll find out.
HERE'S WHAT CARFAX SAYS ABOUT THEIR REPORT FOR VEHICLES IN ALBERTA (FROM THEIR FAQ)...IT SHUD BE SAME FOR CARPROOF TOO...SO GO AHEAD AND BUY THEIR REPORT
