Here are a few problems that I encounter from time to time. The very first one that beats me is:

In the last ten days, on a few occasions, especially after mid night hours, I haven't been able to log on to the CANADIAN DESI we site. The error message that I get is
"Bandwidth limit exceeded. The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit" "Please try again" apache 1.3.57 Server at http://www.akhabbar.com." rel="nofollow">LINK Port 80"

I understood what it is that they are saying by this and upon investigation I found that the business at this web site is BOOMING. It is confirmed by the web statistics.

The next one has been: I am unable to send more than one letter per day. It permits me to write, when I click on send, it kills all my efforts that I put into it and tells me that I cannot send more than one letter in 24 hours, exact to the minute.

Here is the current status at my mail box.

In box 0
Out box 9
Saved items 89
Sent items 62
Recycle bin 0

And some of the letters in the out box are months old and I have informed the recipients over the CD responses along with a letter that there is a Mail for them in the out box (PM). They haven't been picked up or they haven't left my out box yet?

The next item is: When I punch in a specific set of words, such as "Hit the ground running", say in CHARCHA I expect to see the specific posting that I want to access. I don't get any suitable response. But at the same time I hit the same wording in Google, it comes up with the Canadian Desi Website and with the specific posting that I am looking for. What a travesty. I want the web address to post for a link! and I don't get it here, right from under my nose.

Can the moderators and the web master help me in solving this enigma, other than by saying clean out my mail box totally? Or go to Google. It will be like saying get out of here.

Thank you, for enhancing the services and providing us with instant access. Because, I depend upon your links and the materials that I want, instead of repeating my search for the same materials and the external links to it.

Can the moderator collate all of the postings side by side under a specific heading for others to access, also separately to the daily responses, so one of the days, we can burn and provide a Compact Disc to the immigrants or let them burn and carry it to remote locations where they have no high speed connections.

Thanks for pointing out the issues and some excellent suggestions.

The bandwidth issue was there on last day of the May. We did exceed the bandwidth available, and that was because of higher than usual number of hits from the so called experimental robot called twiceler. It is a BAD robot, indexing several thousand pages from the same site at the same time!! I blocked that robot from indexing our webpages, so we should not have any issue on that. In addition I am closely watching bandwidth usage this month and if needed I will increase it.

I need to check the mailbox issue you mentioned. I don't think we have a limit to send only one message per 24 hours. Yes we did restrict the usage of PM, as there were several spammers misused the tool by sending hundreds of messages with promotional material to many members. You can find threads on that too. I just need to check what is blocking you from sending more than one message in 24 hours. Regarding message sitting on outboxes - It will stay there until the recipient will open it. It means your recipients never opened them!!

The search in charcha is not sophisticated and need to be corrected. I know this and will fix it soon.

Rearranging the posts is a good idea but will require lot of time. We are doing it on regular bases, but a lot more to be done.

Hi GG,

Most of the times it comes up to the top. Some times it is some where else, and buried at the bottom. So I start to read the other materials first to see who else has used it too. (The specific phrase) Then I go up and down and see it is not there in that article at all. That makes me wonder why did it show up on the top of the list? It is not in that article! Am I doing some thing different every time? or it is the web site is throwing some thing at me to read first!

On one day I saw 1200 people as Guests and a handful of registered users. That is commendable. The web site is great and moving forward beautifully. The charts and timings were there to see at that website. I should have copied it for keep sake. Bravo. keep it up.

No, it is more than that. I guess you might have many messages in the outbox waiting for others to open. Please check and let me know

Hi GG,

I just have 1 mail in the outbox. Generally there will be 1 atleast since the last message I sent for the day will still be there till opened.

BTW, was unable to access Canadiandesi.ca and Canadiandesi.com since yesterday afternoon till this morning. It seems that the website exceeded alloted bandwidth - is that really true? or was it just a glitch?
