Dear Cd's,
I am wondering as to how many Desi's of Candian desi use Orkut (www.orkut.co), a free social networking site started by G-Mail.
One of my juniors in my college university alumini site first introduced me to the site by saying that the reason for the low turnout at the university alumini site is b'cos many Tamilians / Indians in India are now hooked to this very user friendly site Orkut. I joined the site recently and found that I could see many of my long forgotten friends there. I could even see a thread in which some old students of my high school discussing about our teachers there.
I also wonder about the experiences of our CD's , if they have ever used that site.

This is very popular in India. I have been a member since some tine now.
Just like facebook is to the Canadians, Orkut is to the Indians.

Orkut is just so wonderful.I found all my nursery classmates as well. I felt so glad talking about good old days.Orkut is a very useful site where you get to know people in and around your city/community,old freinds, distant relatives etc etc.

Orkut has lost its touch in the last few months, because of all the spams. I used to be a member, not anymore.

they have taken measures to lessen the spams. for instance, you can;t post a link without word authentication.

All the social networking sites are crap - orkut, facebook, myspace, hisspace, her space, their space ,too much space yada yada yada...blah blah blah...

But if you enjoy those, go for it.

they are certainly not "crap". what makes you say so ?

i;ve gotten in touch with so many friends with these sites. its a pretty quick way to get back to them. they are also good for killing time. at the end of the day, it depends on how you use them.
