Posting this for a friend.
This friend has a stamped B1 visa from one company and is interested in pursuing a contracting opportunity with another company based in the US. So the question is..is this stamped business visa specific to one given company/ does he need to get another B1 stamped to pursue this opportunity.

B1 visa is for the business meetings/business related visits - not for the work. And this is not employer specific. But if he is planning to work in the US (that's the impression I get when you say "pursuing a contracting opportunity" ), he needs a work visa (H/TN/L).

1. What are the tax implications of working on a Business Visa (B1) in the US through an incorporated company in Canada? In this scenario where do we pay the tax and how much?
2. What kind of documents do you need to carry with you, when one already has a B1/B2.

-- This question is invalid. This is because as I have said earlier, you cannot work on the business visa. You have to have a WORK VISA to work in the US.

-- The proof that you are entering the US for temp business/business meetings, etc. (Like a letter from the company where you will be going to conduct business in the USA)
Related to this - can the person work from here ( in Canada ) while he gets payed by US company ( either in US or in Canada - which is better ) ?

If the person has a PR status in Canada, he can certainly work for ANY employer either in US or Canada - from Canadian soil. He will file the regular cdn tax return in either case - no special tax consideration is required.
