Needs few suggestions on Negotiation in Salary while switching job

Background
- engineer
- above 14 years of experience
- worked mostly in engineering side but for some time in shifts

Present condition
- Working with Good Local company in Canada
- Salary is okay
- working in operations & in shifts
- No growth career wise

Goal
- Work more in engineering side
- Out of shift work
- Work with company which is globally recognised

New Job Offer
-Engineering related job
-Regalar Mon-Fri job from 8.00 to 5.00
-Salary almost same what presently getting
-Globally recognised company

Now question is:
Should he negotiate salary for new employer?
If yes, what should be the range of negotation like 5-10 %?

If not, what is the reason ?

If decide to negotiate, what a person should say to new employer.
Like what exactly points he should mention in negotiation

Person's obsevation
-While switching job, most of us take new job without any Cut in Salary or less than present one or same salary
-Market conditions say this person is getting less than eligible

You should see how the interview went? Were they very impressed with you? Will they be compelled to take you at a reason able cost? Did you sound desparate during interview? So it depends on a lot of factors and esp. as to how desparate you are for this job?
Say you were getting 35K in your previous job. I would say to my potential employer that I am getting 45 K and I expect the same since I feel that the current job being offered to me is consitant with my goals/ needs/ ambition etc....
When you say this, the potential employer would not normally ask you to take a sum less than 45K. But the major drawback is that if the employer had based the salary for the potential position at 40K , he will not employe you and also not negotiate.
So it is very tricky and depends on circumstances of the interview. If you know any insider in the company then you can get some insider information about the salary levels of the company. Networking is best to get insider information.

Yes I had two interviews, one with HR & another with technical manager

Both went fine & they are impressed
During both interviews, I told them what at present my salary

Of course I didn't say a greater or wrong figure to avoid further complications

Now they are offering me exact same salary

now that is my concern, whether to negotiate or not.
If yes, how?

I am in current job more than year now
There is hardly any growth in present job
I already spoke to my manager, not ready to transfer me to another section

So I feel my qualification & exp is under utilised

On the other side, new employer is globally recognised & has good name in engineering field

Lets see
