Hi,
I want to sponsor my dad.
He is just turned 70, but is still active (teaching) he worked for Indian Air Force (IAF ) for 36 yrs.
He mentioned that anytime during his overseas stay if he takes ill..IAF will foot the bill. Will this help to expedite the process of sponsorship.
Kindly advice
Thanks
Regards

You are in Canada. You can submit the sponsorship here locally to Mississauga. The current processing time here is about two years.
The files then get transferred to your local area. The time period there will be unknown. Being in good health, will help him get through his medicals, without a hitch. Do anticipate some changes between now and the medicals. If the health is still good and holding, you will be the first one to know.
As long he keeps himself busy with some occupation, I am sure he will have a purpose in life, that will keep him in good stead.
Our health care system is free. (Almost) Accessing the services and its availability to all is slowly eroding away due to the lack of qualified Doctors.
The billing system is based upon this universal health care system. Hence any other coverage has to be supplemental. See if the coverage that you are mentioning that he has, will cover just the required portion only. See if it covers most of it or just a portion. What are the required proofs that they will accept, if you will ever need it.
Most of such needs arise in the senior citizens facilities. They cost an arm and a leg. Which is boarding and lodging as 'Elderly Citizens' Care'. See if there is such a coverage, in case you will ever need. Will it speed up things? I am not the one to judge or decide. See if he has coverage if he immigrates out of India. Also you study the same first to see if it will help or hinder in this application process. Also do not complicate the process, if you find it is redundant.
I wish you all the luck and the success that you deserve.
Freddie.
Thanks Freddie for your time and some valuable inputs
I will ask him to revisit his medical coverage offered by IAF. He might be oblivious to some of the loop holes. Again i looking at this as an advantage, if it is going to be redundant i will not consider it as you pointed out.
