Hi,

I have a couple of questions.

Background: I have been in Canada for about a 1 year now and am now eligible to sponsor my mother (from India) and intend to start the process soon as soon as I get my "Notice of Accessment" from Revenue Canada. I gather that the waiting period now is close to 4 or 5 odd years.

Queries:
1 - How does one go about getting is visitors visa to Canada or is that tough too?
2 - If the parent is retiring in 2005 and is single (without spouse) and she has no other children would it in any case expediate the case? If yes, any idea if this would qualify under the Humaintarian and Commpassionate cases.
3 - In Family class sponsoring what is the difference between Sponsoring you family from "within" Canada or from "abroad". I mean, how can you sponsor you parent who is living in India from "within" Canada.

- PROVIDE A LETTER CONFIRMING REASONS FOR VISITING AND YOUR FINANCIAL/INCOME/HOUSING SITUATION IN CANADA
- DEPENDING ON HER TIES TO INDIA, SHE MAY GET VISITOR'S VISA
- BUT MANY PEOPLE USE IT AS A BACKDOOR TO APPLY FROM WITHIN CANADA, SO THE EMBASSY HAS STARTED "PUNISHING" OTHER GENUINE VISITORS

- NO

- THIS WOULD BE STRONG REASONS WHY EMBASSY WILL REFUSE THE VISITOR VISA PPLICATION. BUT SHOULD THEY GRANT HER ONE, THIS WOULD BE STRONG GROUNDS FOR APPLYING UNDER H&C GROUNDS ONCE IN CANADA.
