Does a DUI in USA affects a parent sponsorship to be approved?

Hi everybody i'm a canadian resident and I just send the application to sponsor my parents who are living in USA, the thing is that my father got a DUI (Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol) last year he went over that fine, but I'm wondering if that affects the sponsorship Process?
Does somebody knows about that?
I'll appreciate any information, Thank You!

D.U.I. is an indictable offense.
Immigration Laws are strict.
How many such offenses he has committed? (Numbers please)
How long ago did he commit them.(We know the ball park figure) Is he doing them still?
Has he been attending any rehab sessions by HIMSELF?
Why did YOU not consult the Immigrant Help services here in Canada for guidance, prior to filing the sponsorship application?

YES, I TALKED THAT TO A LAWYER AND HE TALK ME THAT IT WAS OK, BUT EVEN THOUGH I WANT TO KNOW IF ANYBODY HAD SOMETHING SIMILAR.
AND THAT IS A LONG STORY, HE WAS NOT EVEN DRIVING THE CAR BUT THE DRIVER WENT TO THE RESTROOM AND MY FATHER STAY ON THE CAR SO THE POLICE CAME AND TOOK HIM LIKE HE WAS DRIVING, AND THAT'S THE ONLY ONE HE GOT CAUSE, AND HE'S DOING EVERYTHING THE JUDGE SAID. HE'S GETTING OFF OF THAT THIS MONTH. SO IF YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT JUST LET ME KNOW....
