Hi Friends
Iam Planning to relocate to Calgary from KSA end of October. Need suggestions from experienced members.
Both me and my wife are PR holders where as two children (One 8yrs & other 9months old) are not.
Is it possible to apply for both the children staying outside Canada?
What will be the weather conditions in October.

You say that you and your wife, both, are a PR in Canada.
You have a daughter who is eight years old and does not have PR.
So, she was born outside of Canada, did you not include her when you both applied for PR? If she has not been in Canada as PR, could you please explain a little bit more, How it is so? She will need a visa to get in. Your little one also needs a visa to get in.
It is a catch 22 situation. You cannot apply for their sponsorship from outside of Canada. Hence the suggestion that you apply for their entry visa. Please send CIC (them) an e-mail and ask for the details, how to proceed. Get the forms and a kit each for sponsorship of the two children. Then follow the directions that they will provide you with. You have ample time to do this.

""What does a visa officer consider when assessing an application for a temporary resident visa?

Approval of a temporary resident visa application cannot be guaranteed as each application is considered on its own merit. Visa officers look at many factors in assessing whether an applicant is a genuine temporary resident. They consider the purpose of the visit and the applicant’s ties to his or her home country, including the family and economic situation.

Foreign nationals wishing to come to Canada as temporary residents must show that they will respect the conditions that apply to temporary residents. {One of these conditions is that they will leave voluntarily at the end of the visit.} Individuals who apply to come to Canada as temporary residents must satisfy the visa officer that they:

* are in good health (in some cases, a medical examination may be required);
{* have not committed a crime;}
* do not pose a threat to Canada’s security;
* have a valid passport or travel document;
* meet all other requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act."

Hopefully they will issue the same to you before your departure. (Better)

Visa Offices in the United States (Buffalo – Detroit – Los Angeles – New York – Seattle – Washington, D.C.)

Buffalo: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/buffalo.asp
Atlanta: http://geo.international.gc.ca/can-am/atlanta/services/default-en.asp

Buffalo does not respond to voice services. So, Please try Atlanta.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

Hi Freddy

Thanks for your response. For quite some time I was following your responses they are informative. Keep it up.

My wife & me first landed in July2006, after completeing the formalities we left Canada and presently located in Saudi.
Yes we didn't included our elder son in our application. Explaining the situation I have sent a mail to Canadian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, but no reply from them. So you mean that kids can accompany me on a temporary visit visa and upon landing in Canada I can proceed with their sponsorship process.

They normally would like you to complete the Medical for the kids. Then complete the process. You still have the time to complete it if they will speed up the process. They know from the medicals that your wife completed, that you have an elder son and you omitted him in the Immigration application for sponsorship.
It is not just the letter stating that you omitted, that counts. It is the copy of the Passport and the birth certificate etc., that they will need, which has to be submitted together with the letter, is what counts. You have to provide the supporting documents. I don't know if you did it already or you are lagging behind waiting for their response.

Things may get delayed a bit, you have to anticipate that. Please follow it up with an e-mail and see how they would like to handle it. But you have to be two step ahead of them to get things done in a hurry. So, please send the 'copies' to them soon.

Also get all of the vaccination certificates etc., ready and if needed, translated too. Get the school records and what ever that comes to your mind handy for submission also.

Now they are wondering how is it that you both landed without him and where did you leave him behind? You will have a lot of convincing to do now.

So, get on top of it. And..

Good Luck.

Freddie.
