Hello All,
I have question relating to citizenship, I landed in Canada in June, 2011 and have been living in Canada since then but my wife decided to return to India after staying in Canada till Sept, 2011 along with our two children. Now, I will be completing 3 yrs for citizenship in June 2014 and when I apply for my citizenship can I apply for the citizenship of my both children? Will the children be required to come here to Canada? If yes, then for how long?
My wife is not at all interested in settling in Canada and I am thinking of shutling between Canada and India as long as I can.
Please advice.
Thanks
Ishwar

Looks like your wife hates Canada.
But since , you have already finished 2 years , you might as well finish the remaining one year.
But now there is almost a 2 year waiting list ( processing ) to get the actual citizenship card/certificate in hand after you apply for citizenship ( even though you are eligible and have completed the time )
But remember you will have to give up your Indian citizenship , and applly for OCI , PIO etc ( if you want ) , once you take Canadian citizenship.
Is it worth staying away from your wife and kids , just for Canadian citizenship ?
Is your wife OK with this plan of yours or is it without her consent ?
It will put unnecessary strain on your marriage if its not a mutual decision.
If you have a good life in India , your wife sure Seems to think so , then just go back..not worth staying over here without your wife and kids.
Your OHIP etc will also expire if you take the citizenship abd go back and stay out of Canada for a certain amt. of time.
But surprised , she went back so soon in just 4 months , that too in summer..imagine how she would have felt in winter , if she wasn't even happy in summer.
Happy Wife ..Happy Life ..be it in India or Canada.
Looks like that Happy Wife scenario is never going to happen for you in Canada , so the Happy Life thing also goes down the drain with it
Looks like India is the only option left for you in tne long run
