Here is a situation -
My laptop has CD/DVD writer, but for last few days its not working
Means whenver any CD/DVD is inserted, nothing happens. I tried even with my computer & right clicking CD/DVD, but no response
So I suppose its faulty ( my laptop is almsot 4 yaers old)
Is there any other way to repair at home or do some troubleshoot
If not I am thinking of buying another one
Also in my Desktop, there is only CD/DVD player where I can't burn any CD/DVD ( I usually burn CD/DVD more frequently)
Now if I want to buy CD/DVd burner, what option I have
When I went to Future Shop & Best Buy, found external & internal CD/DVD burners.
What is the basic difference between external & internal?
Which is best suitable for me
Please note internal burners starts with $34 while extrenal burners starts with $60
Can some suggest me?
I guess the basic difference is External DVD drive is the one which is a different unit all together & you can carry it anywhere you want. It can be connected by USB port to your desktop or laptop & can perform the function you want. You can switch between desktop & laptop whenever you want, by connecting or disconnecting the USB port. It uses power of the CPU & does not have a different electric connection. Though most of them comes with an external power supply option also.
Whereas internal drive is the one which gets fix into the CPU of your desktop or into a laptop.
I would suggest you to buy an external CD/DVD-/+RW Burner so that you can even write DVD/CD on your desktop whenever you wish.
External drives would be obviously expensive because of the advantage of mobility to the users.
