From some initial enquiries I have found that cost of 5 month course in India varies between 1 and 2 Lacs.
Any idea what is the ballpark figure for doing the same in Canada in Toronto area?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In b'lore, I have heard that 3 months part time is 30 thousand.
In Toronto it is around $ 2000- $3000 ($ 26K in SAP Canada for 25 days) for 7-8 weekends ,6-7 hours a day, sat for theory and Sunday for practicals).
Hope this helps.

Hi Gopidi,
One can do any SAP module course from Rs 5,000 to 25,000/- in Hyderabad. There are good institutes in Hyderabad and due to recession, the coaching institutes reduced prices.
Typically, these institutes offer 1 to 2 hrs daily class for 2 to 3 moths and students can practice in labs on 24 hours basis.
So do not waste 1 to 2 lacs in Bangalore for the same.

Attn: All soon to be SAP consultants.
I don't want to be the grinch here, what is your plan B?
IMHO, during recession its always good to have alternatives in one's career plan/training. There is no 100% guarantee for SAP placements, as in most other professions.
I am just curious to know if one can cross-train in a non-ERP computing field along with SAP?

Hi,
What do you think, who would be your tutor for 15K course? What is the level of knowledge of that tutor? He/She's just done the course for that institute and now becomes a tutor.
SAP is not a 2-3 month part-time course, even for one module (tech/functional).
Even I spent 25K in Bangalore for ABAP in 2004. But never get any interview on that basis.
All employers want real-time experience with full cycle implementation (many classes offering that but I doubt). You need functional experience in-depth as well in particular domain.
Best thing is, get a lower level job initially with the company that already implemented SAP and go further.....

Guys,
Just to update you on SAP HR Module.
I spoke yesterday with one of my 12 th std classmate who did his BSc. comp sci (evening college) and MSc (comp. Sci) and who had and now is in USA for the last 12 years. 4 years ago he shifted to SAP SCM and is working for a top company in Dallas. When I asked him about SAP HR Module, this is what he had to tell me.
SAP HR Module is very hot right now in the market and that SAP BW is the worst module right now in recession time.
He told me to ask about Placements in any company teaching SAP.
When studying SAP, always prepare well at home before you go to class b'cos SAP teaching will be in the high end and if you donot follow what the instructors are telling, then everything will be spanish.
Get SAP access for 6 months and practice hard and sincere.
Get SAP certification.
cook up your resume to show 4 years of SAP experience.
Always be up to date on the FUNCTIONAL aspects of SAP HR Module as well as all the terms.
Never say SAP in an interview. Always say S-A-P (only the letters). if you say SAP, then it is a rejection on the spot.
SAP is well respected (and higher salary) in USA and Parts of Europe. For all the rest, you will be treated the same as Java, J2EE etc....
Ultimately one fool company from USA will hire you and they will put you on teh job.
The same fool company will see all the mistakes that you do and see that you donot know SAP HR even one bit.
The same fool company will give you about 2 month time before firing you.
With the 2 month experience in the fool company, cook up your resume to 4 years of hard core exp. at the same fool company.
Another company will hire you and if you are clever, you will suceed. Otherwise you will get the same exp. as the fool's company that hired you first.
ultimately, you will be a Guru in SAP and you will earn in 100 + $ each hour.

My Plan :
I will be going to ERP TEK introduction class in Mississauga this coming saturday at 2:0 pm (CD's welcome to meet me there). there is another company known as MyERPPartners in Mississauga that has orientation / Introduction class on Sunday at 2:00 pm (I will attend not this sunday but the next one).
ERP TEK offers 1 classs free in a module. So I will attend one free class in SAP HR Module.

any idea about MYERP Partners ? Did you check them out ?
thanks

There is another institute as well in mississauga who are training in SAP HR and BW as well. I guess the owner of the company is real time consultant in that area. Check with them as they are also HRDC approved (second carreer) will help to get funded by govt.
I dont remember his last name..but start with Uttam...
